Anglins Pier first opened on November 24th of 1963. It has been, and still is to this day, an important part of the city, Lauderdale by the Sea offering Tourists, and Fishermen a great ole time. in 2006 the pier did suffer a vast amount of damage due to hurricane Wilma. At that time the pier was only open halfway and lost what had been done from the last storm that had damaged it they year before. as of Fall of 2006 the Pier is now operating 24 hours a day. Website
The Hillsboro Lighthouse Preservation Society was founded in October 1997 For the purpose of preserving the historic Hillsboro Light Station in its original form for the safety, enjoyment, and education to the public.
